GOALKEEPERS

Despite conceding three goals on Matchday 6, Frederik Rønnow (€5.0m) still managed the highest individual Fantasy score among goalkeepers. The Union Berlin No1 saved a penalty, helping him pick up eight Fantasy points, as his side ended their group stage campaign with defeat at home by Real Madrid.

While Rønnow's eight-point score was unmatched, three goalkeepers ended Matchday 6 having each recorded seven points. Jan Oblak (€6.0m) justified his premium price tag by helping Atlético de Madrid shut out Lazio, while Copenhagen's Kamil Grabara (€4.5m) and Alex Meret (€4.9m) of Napoli each kept clean sheets as both teams secured their passage through to the round of 16.

A fourth clean sheet of the group stage for Real Sociedad goalkeeper Álex Remiro (€4.1m) was enough to earn him six points and means the 28-year-old enters the knockout stage as the top Fantasy scorer in his position with 30 points.

Highlights: Copenhagen 1-0 Galatasaray

DEFENDERS

Copenhagen defenders proved hugely lucrative from a Fantasy perspective on Matchday 6. Centre-back pairing Denis Vavro (€4.6m) and Kevin Diks (€5.0m) were two of the three defenders to record double-figure scores, each recording 12 ball recoveries and ultimately accumulating ten Fantasy points apiece. That was three adrift of Napoli's Natan (€4.5m), whose total included a clean sheet, an assist and the Player of the Match award.

The oldest active outfield player in Champions League history, Pepe (€4.8m) was on the scoresheet for Porto in their thrilling 5-3 triumph against Shakhtar Donetsk; that goal combined with seven ball recoveries helping the 40-year-old score nine Fantasy points.

Both Peter Ankersen (€4.0m) and Liam Scales (€4.3m) matched Pepe's score, with the former also set to feature in the knockout stage, while right-back Giovanni Di Lorenzo (€5.5m) will have pleased his substantial ownership with seven points in Napoli's win against Braga. Dortmund's Mats Hummels (€5.1m) ended the group stage as the highest scoring Fantasy defender with 40 points and has yet to score less than four on a matchday in 2023/24.

MIDFIELDERS

The biggest individual score of the round was 22 points accumulated by Galeno (€6.8m). Shakhtar Donetsk must be sick of the sight of the Porto winger, who has racked up an incredible 41 points across two Group H fixtures against the Ukrainian side. Galeno was involved in four of Porto's five goals against Shakhtar on Matchday 6, scoring twice and setting up two more before being named Player of the Match.

Samuel Lino (€6.1m) impressed for Atlético de Madrid with a goal, an assist, the Player of the Match award and 15 points against Lazio. The left-sided winger has recorded 28 points across his last two Champions League appearances and will be an appealing option in the round of 16.

While both Przemysław Frankowski (€6.0m) of Lens and Bayern's Kingsley Coman (€8.0m) were on the scoresheet, Player of the Match winners and picked up 12 Fantasy points on Matchday 6, only Coman will advance through to the knockout stage as the German champions finished top of Group A.

Three other midfield assets picked up double-figure scores in the final set of group games: Warren Zaïre-Emery (€5.3m), Arthur Vermeeren (€5.7m) and In-Beom Hwang (€4.5m). The trio each managed to earn 11 points, although only Zaïre-Emery of Paris will feature in the round of 16.

Highlights: Salzburg 1-3 Benfica

FORWARDS

Having not delivered an attacking return across the first five group games, Ángel Di María (€7.9m) belatedly delivered for Benfica with a brilliant individual performance. His goal from outside the box and an assist helped the Portuguese side to a 3-1 win at Salzburg, which secured them a place in the UEFA Europa League.

Di María's 13 points was matched by only one forward on Matchday 6, Joselu (€7.3m) of Real Madrid. The striker scored two goals in the 3-2 triumph away to Union Berlin, crowning his team's perfect group stage campaign of six wins from six.

Shakhtar Donetsk's Danylo Sikan (€5.2m) completed the trio of forwards with double-figure Fantasy scores on Matchday 6, but there was disappointment for owners of premium assets Erling Haaland (€11.7m), Harry Kane (€10.1m) and Kylian Mbappé (€11.5m). Haaland sat out Manchester City's win in Belgrade while neither Kane nor Mbappé found the net, although the former did at least register an assist.
