Matchday 4 of the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League brought plenty of excitement as UEFA.com casts an eye on the top-performing Fantasy players.
Although only five players scored more than 15 points, 23 managed double figures on Matchday 4 of #UCLfantasy, presented by Playstation.
GOALKEEPERS
Despite a difficult fixture at Real Madrid, Mike Maignan (€5.5m) ended Matchday 4 with eight points – the most of any goalkeeper – his nine saves helping him to be named Player of the Match as Milan triumphed 3-1.
Three goalkeepers recorded scores of seven points each, all keeping clean sheets in wins for their respective sides. Yann Sommer (€5.5m) helped Inter defeat Arsenal and has still to concede a goal in the league phase, gaining 27 points across four matchdays so far, more than any other keeper.
Walter Benitez (€4.4m) also registered seven points after making three saves and shutting out Girona in a 4-0 win for PSV. Liverpool's Caoimhin Kelleher (€4.5m) has now made 11 saves and picked up 15 points from his two appearances.
DEFENDERS
A number of defenders shone on Matchday 4 at both ends of the pitch, particularly Thilo Kehrer (€4.5m), who scored the only goal as Monaco defeated Bologna 1-0. That, along with six ball recoveries, a clean sheet and the Player of the Match award, took Kehrer's Matchday 4 score to 17 points.
Both Nahuel Molina (€4.8m) and Ryan Flamingo (€4.5m) found the net in victories for Atlético de Madrid and PSV respectively, picking up 12 points each. That total was matched by Jules Koundé (€5.5m), who completed a hat-trick of second-half assists as Barcelona won 5-2 at Crvena Zvezda.
However, the Player of the Match award in that game went to Koundé's Barcelona team-mate Iñigo Martinez (€5.1m), who opened the scoring. His total of 11 points was matched by fellow Player of the Match Isak Hien (€4.6m), who recorded ten ball recoveries as Atalanta prevailed at Stuttgart.
MIDFIELDERS
Raphinha (€7.6m) became the first player in all positions to reach the 50-point mark after a goal, two assists and 13 points against Crvena Zvezda. That made it three consecutive double-figure returns for the Barcelona winger, including five goals – two coming from outside the box – and three assists.
A number of midfielders outscored Raphinha on Matchday 4, with Liverpool's Luis Díaz (€7.5m) taking the headlines. The Colombian winger scored a second-half hat-trick in a 4-0 win against Bayer Leverkusen, making it 21 Fantasy points. Two points behind was Malik Tillman (€7.0m), who set up two goals and scored himself for PSV, gaining the Player of the Match award against Girona.
Phil Foden (€9.1m) now has 33 points across three matchdays having scored in each of his last three league phase appearances for Manchester City. Elsewhere, Hakan Çalhanoğlu (€7.0m) marked his return to the Inter starting line-up with the winning goal against Arsenal and a second double-figure Fantasy return this season, while both Nicolas Kühn (€4.5m) of Celtic and Shakhtar Donetsk's Georgiy Sudakov (€6.5m) recorded two attacking returns, ending with 16 and 14 points respectively after each winning the Player of the Match award.
FORWARDS
A double from Robert Lewandowski (€9.5m) on Wednesday left the Barcelona striker on 99 career Champions League goals, just one away from becoming only the third player to reach a century after Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. The Pole also registered ten Fantasy points for the second time this season, taking his overall score to 28.
The highest-scoring Fantasy forward, however, is now Sporting CP's Viktor Gyökeres (€7.6m) following his Matchday 4 hat-trick against Manchester City. The Swede now has five goals, three Player of the Match awards and 37 Fantasy points across the league phase.
Two other forwards scored twice on Matchday 4, Salzburg's Karim Konaté (€6.0m) and Sandro Kulenović (€5.9m) of GNK Dinamo, the latter's double helping him to a total of 14 points.
