Article body
There is a strong focus on home fixtures in the Scout's squad for UEFA Champions League Matchday 5, with all but two of the 15 players selected having the advantage of a game in their own stadium in the latest round of #UCLfantasy, presented by Playstation.
Goalkeepers
The two goalkeepers both have form on their side in addition to a home fixture and a favourable price tag. Tuesday's selection is Iñaki Peña (€4.5m), whose Barcelona side are at home to Brest having won their last three Champions League fixtures, Peña picking up six points at home to Young Boys on Matchday 2.
Kasper Schmeichel (€4.4m) has managed one clean sheet in the league phase – at Atalanta on Matchday 3 – but his Celtic team have been irrepressible at home ahead of the visit of Club Brugge with wins in both matches and have five clean sheets in their last seven games in all competitions.
Defenders
Celtic also provide one of the five defenders, Liam Scales (€4.6m) looking to add to his 23 points to date – 11 of them in Glasgow on Matchday 1 – against Club Brugge. Another budget-friendly defensive selection is Olivier Boscagli (€4.5m), who has scored four or more points in three of his four fixtures, eight of them at home to Girona on Matchday 4, ahead of PSV Eindhoven's fixture with Shakhtar Donetsk in Netherlands.
Alejandro Grimaldo (€5.6m) scored 18 points in his first two fixtures but just five in his last two, with Bayer Leverkusen looking to get back on track at home to Salzburg. Also in need of an upturn is Joško Gvardiol (€5.5m) with Manchester City on a run of five successive defeats in all competitions before their meeting with Feyenoord, the Croatian having scored three goals in his last seven Premier League games. Another attacking full-back, Denzel Dumfries (€5.5m) has scored six or more points in each of his last three fixtures – 21 in total from those games – with Inter Milan at home to Leipzig, who have lost all four games.
Midfielders
Three of the four top-scoring Fantasy midfielders make the squad for Matchday 5, including Raphinha (€7.6m), whose 50 points is the highest across all positions. The Brazilian has 13 or more from each of his last three Champions League games and will look to add to his seven goals in his last six Barcelona games at home to Brest. Florian Wirtz (€7.7m) has 38 Fantasy points and scored seven in his only previous home appearance for Leverkusen, while Mohamed Salah (€10.1m) scored twice at the weekend to make it five successive Premier League games in which he had found the net, and ten goals and six assists in the competition this season.
Nicolas Kühn (€4.5m) is another strong budget selection from Celtic having scored 22 Fantasy points in his two previous Champions League games in Glasgow, including 16 on Matchday 4. Twenty-two of the 28 points scored by Ademola Lookman (€6.7m) have come in Atalanta's two away league phase games, with the in-form Italian side – who have won their last seven Serie A fixtures – at Young Boys this week.
Forwards
Sporting CP face another tough home game against Premier League visitors but, having put four goals past Manchester City on Matchday 4 and won their last nine games in all competitions, scoring 19 in the most recent four, are in excellent shape for Arsenal's trip to Lisbon. Viktor Gyökeres (€7.6m) hit a hat-trick against City and has 17 goals in his last nine games for club and country, making the Swede impossible to overlook.
Robert Lewandowski (€9.5m) comes into Matchday 5 on 99 Champions League goals, five of them this season, when he has managed a minimum of six points on each of the last three matchdays. Unusually, Erling Haaland and Harry Kane do not feature despite home games, the Scout instead opting to cover Wednesday's fixtures by selecting Serhou Guirassy (€7.8m) after five or more points from every game to date, although the Borussia Dortmund forward is a doubt for the game at GNK Dinamo due to an infection that sidelined him on Saturday.
