Ahead of the final round of league phase fixtures in 2024, UEFA.com considers the captaincy credentials of Mohamed Salah, Jamal Musiala, Bukayo Saka and Julián Alvarez for Matchday 6 of #UCLfantasy, presented by Playstation.
TUESDAY 10 DECEMBER
Mohamed Salah (€10.1m) vs Girona (A)
Salah has a goal, four assists and 33 Fantasy points from the last four matchdays, and this season has regularly delivered attacking returns for league phase leaders Liverpool in both the Premier League and the Champions League. The Egyptian did miss the penalty he won in the Reds' 2-0 triumph over Real Madrid on Matchday 5 but was on target from the spot four days later in Liverpool's defeat of Manchester City. While Salah's 13 goals and 11 assists for Liverpool this season already make him a strong captaincy candidate, Fantasy managers will also be able to see his team's starting line-up against Girona before the Matchday 6 deadline.
Jamal Musiala (€9.0m) vs Shakhtar Donetsk (A)
Back on the scoresheet for Bayern München against Dortmund on 30 November, Musiala has been a consistent source of goals since returning from injury in late October. The 21-year-old has seven in his last eight appearances in all competitions and has recording 23 points in his three Champions League starts, including a goal, two assists, eight ball recoveries and a Player of the Match award. Vincent Kompany's side next take on Shakhtar Donetsk, who have conceded two goals per match on average in their last four fixtures.
Other options: Florian Wirtz (€7.7m), Malik Tillman (€7.1m), Viktor Gyökeres (€7.8m)
WEDNESDAY 11 DECEMBER
Bukayo Saka (€8.9m) vs Monaco (H)
The in-form England international produced a goal, assist and 13 Fantasy points in a Player of the Match performance as Arsenal won 5-1 at Sporting CP on Matchday 5. The Gunners have scored 13 goals in their last three fixtures in all competitions, Saka registering three of those and adding four assists, taking his total attacking returns so far this season to 18 in as many games. Arsenal are at home to Monaco on Matchday 6 having won both Champions League games in north London this season.
Julián Alvarez (€8.0m) vs Slovan Bratislava (H)
While predicting Atlético de Madrid's Matchday 6 line-up may not straightforward, Alvarez is likely to be involved having started all five of the league phase fixtures. The Argentinian now has three goals in Atlético's last three Champions League games and earned the Player of the Match and 14 Fantasy points last time out after scoring twice in a 6-0 win at Sparta Praha, including one from outside the box. Atlético next take on Slovan Bratislava, who have conceded 18 league phase goals after five matches, more than any other club.
Other options: Robert Lewandowski (€9.5m), Christian Pulišić (€7.5m), Ángel Di María (€7.5m)
