Form guide
LOSC Lille
Record vs Dutch clubs: W0 D1 L5 F5 A14
Home record vs Dutch clubs: W0 D1 L2
Lille have lost their last five games against teams from Netherlands, most recently going down 2-4 on aggregate to Ajax in the 2020/21 UEFA Europa League round of 32 (1-2 h, 1-2 a).
The French side drew their first game against Eredivisie opponents, 2-2 with PSV Eindhoven in the 2010/11 Europa League round of 32 first leg, but lost the return 3-1 and were also beaten 3-0 away and 2-0 at home by Ajax in the 2019/20 Champions League group stage.
The last of Lille's seven Champions League group appearances came in 2021/22, when they won their section before losing to holders Chelsea in the round of 16 (0-2 a, 1-2 h).
Those were their most recent games in the competition before this season's third qualifying round, when they beat Fenerbahçe 2-1 at home and drew 1-1 away after extra time to progress.
Lille then edged through a tight play-off against Slavia Praha (2-0 h, 1-2 a).
LOSC took part in the Europa Conference League in 2023/24, winning their section unbeaten (W4 D2) and defeating Sturm Graz in the last 16 (3-0 a, 1-1 h) before losing to Aston Villa in the quarter-finals (1-2 a, 2-1 h aet, 3-4 pens).
The French side have won nine of their last 11 home European matches (D2), beating holders Real Madrid 1-0 on Matchday 2 and Sturm 3-2 on Matchday 6, and are unbeaten since that second-leg loss against Chelsea in 2022 – their only home reverse in 15 games (W9 D5), including a 1-1 draw with Juventus on Matchday 4.
Les Dogues – who replaced Fonseca with Bruno Génésio in the summer – were fourth in Ligue 1 in 2023/24, their highest finish since claiming their fourth league title in 2020/21.
Feyenoord
Record vs French clubs: W3 D5 L2 F11 A12
Away record vs French clubs: W1 D3 L2
This is Feyenoord's first meeting with a Ligue 1 club since the 2021/22 Europa Conference League semi-finals, when they beat Marseille 3-2 on aggregate (3-2 h, 0-0 a).
That first-leg victory was just Feyenoord's third against a French team and the only one in their last five matches (D2 L2).
Feyenoord won their first game in France, 1-0 away to Reims in the 1962/63 European Cup quarter-final first leg (2-1 aggregate) but are without a victory in their subsequent five visits (D3 L2), losing two in a row before that draw at Marseille.
The Rotterdammers are making their seventh appearance in the Champions League proper, appearing in the competition for successive seasons for the first time since 2002/03. This is only the third time they have featured in the last 22 campaigns.
European champions in 1970, Feyenoord have reached the Champions League knockout rounds for the first time this season, although they did qualify for the second group stage in 1999/2000.
In 2023/24, Feyenoord were third in Group E behind Atlético de Madrid and Lazio (W2 L4).
Their subsequent Europa League campaign lasted a single tie, losing to Roma in the knockout round play-offs (1-1 h, 1-1 a aet, 2-4 pens) – the third successive season in which Feyenoord's European campaign had ended in defeat by the Italian side, including a 1-0 loss in the 2022 Europa Conference League final.
A 3-2 Matchday 2 win at Girona this season was Feyenoord's first in 12 away European games (D4 L7) and ended the Dutch club's run of eight successive away defeats in the Champions League proper.
The 3-1 Matchday 3 victory at Benfica is one of three in Feyenoord's last 16 away Champions League fixtures (D3 L10) and one of only five in the competition proper (D6 L13). They fought back from three goals down to draw 3-3 at Manchester City in the most recent.
Feyenoord were second in the 2023/24 Eredivisie but did lift the Dutch Cup for the 14th time.
Arne Slot departed for Liverpool in the summer, Feyenoord appointing Sparta Praha coach Brian Priske as his successor.
