GOALKEEPERS

Having delivered seven clean sheets across the league phase, Yann Sommer (€5.5m) has the most Fantasy points of any goalkeeper with 48. The Swiss international was beaten just once in eight matches as Inter progressed straight to the round of 16.

The only other goalkeeper to reach the 40-point mark was Arsenal's David Raya (€5.6m), whose penalty save against Atalanta on Matchday 1 laid the foundations for a profitable league phase campaign. Of Raya's five clean sheets, four came in north London.

Raya was not the only Premier League goalkeeper who impressed from a Fantasy perspective, as Emiliano Martínez (€5.0m) of Aston Villa earned four clean sheets and 38 points. Despite recording one less clean sheet than Atalanta's Marco Carnesecchi (€4.5m), Martínez finished the league phase with a higher Fantasy score after making 33 saves, 20 more than Carnesecchi.

DEFENDERS

Among defenders, full-backs largely stole the Fantasy headlines over the course of the league phase, none more so than Alejandro Grimaldo (€5.8m). His attacking prowess gave him two assists and two goals, and he was also part of a Leverkusen side that kept five clean sheets on their way to a top-eight finish. No defender matched his total of 60 points.

Grimaldo's team-mate Jeremie Frimpong (€5.6m) also proved lucrative on the opposite flank, setting up five goals and accumulating eight Fantasy points or more on five separate matchdays. Also profitable at right-back was Paris Saint-Germain's Achraf Hakimi (€5.5m), who ended the league phase with 55 points thanks largely to three assists, a goal from outside the box and 44 ball recoveries along with a Player of the Match award on Matchday 3.

Only Grimaldo and Hakimi scored more points than the 53 managed by Isak Hien (€4.9m), the Atalanta defender having earned four clean sheets, an assist and 64 ball recoveries. However, the most ball recoveries among defenders was recorded by Paris centre-back Willian Pacho (€4.8m), whose 71 was four more than Lille's Alexsandro (€4.6m).

MIDFIELDERS

Fantasy managers who owned Raphinha (€7.7m) throughout the league phase were handsomely rewarded, no player in any position matching his score of 84 points. The Barcelona winger accumulated 13 points or more on four separate occasions with a top score of 21 against Bayern München on Matchday 3. Overall, Raphinha registered 13 attacking returns – eight goals and five assists – and collected three Player of the Match awards.

In a memorable debut Champions League campaign for Florian Wirtz (€7.9m), the 21-year-old lit up the league phase in a Leverkusen shirt and was named Player of the Match on five of eight matchdays. Only Raphinha had a higher goal tally from midfield than Wirtz, who found the net six times and picked up 74 Fantasy points.

Mohamed Salah (€10.1m) played a key role in Liverpool finishing top of the inaugural league phase table with seven attacking returns, two Player of the Match awards and 54 points, while plenty of lesser-owned midfield assets delivered as well. Ademola Lookman (€6.7m) picked up four goals, two assists and 47 points despite starting just five games for Atalanta, while PSV Eindhoven's Malik Tillman (€7.3m) could be an attractive option in the knockout phase play-offs after also gaining 47 points.

FORWARDS

The constant over the course of the league phase was the offensive output of Serhou Guirassy (€8.0m). Dortmund's No9 registered at least one attacking return on all eight matchdays, contributing to a Fantasy total of 65 points, the most of any forward. Guirassy is joint-top of the goalscoring charts alongside Barcelona's Robert Lewandowski (€9.6m), both having found the net nine times with Lewandowski recording 55 points.

Dortmund and Guirassy will feature in the new knockout phase play-offs, as will Real Madrid and Vinícius Júnior (€11.2m). Since the start of Matchday 3, the 24-year-old has seven goals, an assist, two Player of the Match awards and 46 points in just four appearances. Across the entire league phase though, his score was eclipsed by Atlético de Madrid's Antoine Griezmann (€9.1m) and Julián Alvarez (€8.3m), who scored 60 and 52 points respectively.

Another premium forward asset set to play in the knockout phase play-offs is Harry Kane (€10.7m), who recorded six goals, an assist and 45 points across seven appearances for Bayern.
