Champions League Fantasy Football: Scout squad for Matchday 13

Ahead of the start of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals, the Scout is leaning heavily on Paris Saint-Germain, who provide five players for the Matchday 13 squad on #UCLfantasy, presented by Playstation. There are also four representatives from Barcelona and two each from Arsenal and Bayern München, with Robert Lewandowski, Harry Kane and Vinícius Júnior leading a potent-looking attack.

Arsenal vs Real Madrid showdown

Goalkeepers

Tuesday's two games look to be a significant challenge in terms of clean sheets, with Arsenal at home to Real Madrid and Bayern and Inter both having significant defensive injury concerns ahead of their meeting in Germany. Inter have conceded only two goals in their ten Champions League matches this season but have managed only one clean sheet in six matches in all competitions so David Raya (€5.6m) is selected, despite Arsenal's defensive concerns; the Spaniard recorded four home clean sheets in the league phase and may be a good pick for save points.

Barcelona's home game against Borussia Dortmund is an appealing Fantasy fixture on Wednesday, but Paris Saint-Germain are in excellent shape for the visit of Aston Villa and, fresh from a clean sheet, a Player of the Match award and nine Fantasy points at Liverpool in the round of 16 second leg, Gianluigi Donnarumma (€5.8m) is the selection.

Nuno Mendes on his rise to stardom

Defenders

The two top-scoring defenders on Fantasy both play for Paris, and both Achraf Hakimi (€5.7m) – on 85 points – and Nuno Mendes (€5.2m), who has 70, are selected for the Parc des Princes meeting with Aston Villa. Hakimi's six clean sheets, one goal and five assists is swelled by 59 balls recovered, worth an extra 16 points; Mendes matches that ball recovery total and both are likely to be able to add to those totals in the quarter-final first leg. Minjae Kim (€5.2m) outscores both in that department, picking up 23 points – of his Fantasy total of 66 – from 78 balls recovered, which should again be key for Bayern at home to Inter.

Iñigo Martínez (€5.1m) offers a relatively cheap route into the Barcelona back line for the visit of Dortmund having contributed three clean sheets and a goal this season. Myles Lewis-Skelly (€4.0m) is both a more budget-friendly and an attacking defensive option for Arsenal's meeting with Real Madrid having played in the last three Champions League games, recording an assist; the 18-year-old, who scored on his England debut last month, has also been a Premier League regular and should start again given Riccardo Calafiori's injury.

Midfielders

Paris and Barcelona continue to feature prominently in midfield, with both providing two of the five selections. Raphinha (€7.7m) remains the top Fantasy scorer on 105 points; 21 of those came in the round of 16, his 12-point return in the second leg a fifth double-figure score of the season. Barça team-mate Lamine Yamal (€7.3m) has a less eye-catching 54 points but is still in 45% of teams – compared to Raphinha's 47% – and matched the Brazilian's total in the second leg against Benfica.

Ousmane Dembélé (€8.5m) has 62 Fantasy points overall for the season, 52 of them in his last six appearances; he has 24 goals in 20 games for Paris in 2025. Club-mate Bradley Barcola (€7.2m) is in a similarly rich vein of form, 41 of his 58 points coming from Matchday 7 onwards, while Morgan Rogers (€5.1m) has a goal and two assists from his last two Premier League outings and 35 Fantasy points in his last three Champions League appearances.

Bayern München vs Inter face-off

Forwards

Up front, form and home advantage make it hard to look beyond Robert Lewandowski (€9.6m) and Harry Kane (€10.8m). The former has scored a total of only six points in his last three Champions League appearances but has nine goals in ten La Liga matches, while Kane made it 23 Bundesliga goals for the season on Friday and has found the net in his last four matches for England and Bayern – he has 39 goals in 46 games overall in 2024/25.

The budget-priced Désiré Doué has a case for inclusion after four goals in three games for Paris, but Kylian Mbappé and Vinícius Júnior (€11.2m) are arguably more reliable selections and is the latter who is chosen, the Brazilian's goal on Saturday – when he did also have a penalty saved – giving him the momentum to add to his 66 Fantasy points this season.
