Qarabağ are well placed to reach the UEFA Champions League proper for only the second time when Ferencváros visit Baku for the conclusion of their play-off.

Qarabağ lead 3-1 from the first leg in Budapest, Barnabás Varga's first-half strike overturned by second-half goals from Marko Janković, Kevin Medina and Musa Gurbanli.
The teams' only other matches came in the 2022/23 Champions League third qualifying round, Qarabağ progressing with a 4-2 aggregate victory (1-1 h, 3-1 a).

Qarabağ are aiming to reach the Champions League proper for the second time having finished fourth in their section in 2017/18, both their points coming against Atlético de Madrid.
They are the only Azerbaijani team to have participated in the group stage or league phase.

Ferencváros
Ferencváros are aiming for a third appearance in the Champions League proper. They reached the group stage in 1995/96 and 2020/21, when they progressed through the play-off round with an away-goals victory against Molde (3-3 a, 0-0 h).
The Hungarian side last featured in the play-offs in 2021/22, a 4-6 aggregate loss against Young Boys (2-3 a, 2-3 h) making their record at this stage W1 L1.
Ferencváros lost 1-3 on aggregate to Danish side Midtjylland in the 2024/25 third qualifying round, going on to reach the Europa League knockout phase play-offs.

Qarabağ have won all five Champions League matches in 2025/26, scoring 13 goals and conceding only two.
The Horsemen beat Shelbourne 4-0 on aggregate in the second qualifying round (3-0 a, 1-0 h) and Shkëndija 6-1 in the third (1-0 a, 5-1 h).
