Champions League Fantasy Football: Top performers on Matchday 2

Over the course of the second round of league phase matches in the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League, ten players managed a score of 13 points or more on #UCLfantasy, presented by PlayStation. UEFA.com highlights those top performers on Matchday 2.

GOALKEEPERS

A significant number of managers will have been delighted with plenty of highly-owned goalkeepers recording clean sheets. Thibaut Courtois (€6.0m) not only made four saves, but also registered an assist as his long ball set up one of three Kylian Mbappé goals in Real Madrid's 5-0 win at Kairat Almaty.

The most popular goalkeeper is David Raya (€5.5m), who scored seven points in Arsenal's 2-0 win over Olympiacos, making it back-to-back shutouts in the league phase. The highest-scoring Premier League goalkeeper on Matchday 2, however, was Nick Pope (€5.0m), who picked up eight points after his six saves helped Newcastle to a 4-0 win against Union Saint-Gilloise.

Eight goalkeepers recorded clean sheets, including Inter's Yann Sommer (€6.0m). A Fantasy star last season, the 36-year-old has started the 2025/26 Champions League with consecutive shutouts. Meanwhile, Gerónimo Rulli (€4.5m) now has 15 saves and 11 Fantasy points for Marseille.

DEFENDERS

It was also a lucrative Matchday 2 for defenders, ten of whom registered a double-figure Fantasy points haul. Premium defenders proved their worth at both ends of the pitch as Inter defeated Slavia Praha 3-0. Denzel Dumfries (€6.0m) was on the scoresheet, while Alessandro Bastoni (€5.5m) provided an assist as the pair came away with 12 and 11 points respectively, Dumfries' total the highest among defenders on Matchday 2.

A trio of Spanish internationals recorded significant Fantasy returns. Robin Le Normand (€4.5m) picked up 11 points following his goal and nine ball recoveries for Atlético de Madrid, while there were clean sheets and ten Fantasy points for both Dean Huijsen (€4.5m) and Marc Cucurella (€5.5m). Huijsen's 14 ball recoveries were the most of any player on Matchday 2, whilst Cucurella was named Player of the Match in Chelsea's 1-0 win against Benfica.

MIDFIELDERS

By far the most selected Fantasy midfielder to feature on Matchday 2 with an ownership of almost 40%, Michael Olise (€8.0m) set up two goals before scoring himself as Bayern München defeated Pafos 5-1 in Cyprus. That was enough to earn Olise 14 points and the Frenchman now has four goal involvements after two fixtures.

However, Olise’s tally was eclipsed by Marseille's Igor Paixão (€6.0m), who rewarded his small ownership with an 18-point return against Ajax. Paixão found the net twice from outside the box and added an assist as Marseille overcame the Dutch side 4-0.

Two penalties gave Newcastle's Anthony Gordon (€7.0m) 13 points, while team-mate Anthony Elanga (€7.0m) managed nine after being named Player of the Match. Atalanta's Mario Pašalić (€5.5m) and Ismael Saibari (€6.5m) of PSV Eindhoven were both goalscorers and Player of the Match winners.

FORWARDS

For the second matchday running, premium forwards stole the show as Kylian Mbappé (€10.6m), Harry Kane (€10.6m) and Erling Haaland (€10.5m) registered seven goals between them. Mbappé's hat-trick helped him to be named Player of the Match, while doubles for Kane and Haaland likewise earned them the three-point bonus for collecting the same award.

Also on the scoresheet twice was the significantly cheaper Rasmus Højlund (€6.0m). The Dane equalled Kane and Haaland's two goals to lead Napoli to a first league phase win of the season.

Jens Petter Hauge (€6.0m) returned 14 Fantasy points thanks to two goals, three ball recoveries and the Player of the Match award against Tottenham. The Bodø/Glimt striker's score was, however, exceeded by Julián Alvarez (€9.0m), the in-form Argentinian forward starring for Atlético de Madrid with three goal involvements and the Player of the Match award to pick up 15 Fantasy points.
