Five in-form players have caught the eye as managers prepare for Matchday 3 of #UCLfantasy, presented by PlayStation.
Rasmus Højlund (€6.0m) – Napoli
With six goals and an assist in his last four games for club and country, Højlund stands out as an affordable and in-form Fantasy forward ahead of Napoli's trip to PSV Eindhoven. The Danish striker's two goals against Sporting CP last time out took him to eight in ten Champions League appearances, including qualifying, before he struck three times for Denmark during the international break.
Lautaro Martínez (€9.5m) – Inter
Another player who scored twice on Matchday 2, Martínez's double against Slavia Praha made it ten goals in his last nine Champions League appearances. The Inter striker has produced at least one attacking return in his last five appearances across all competitions, including two goals and an assist on international duty for Argentina. Owned by just 4% of Fantasy managers, Martínez holds significant differential appeal for Inter's Matchday 3 fixture at Union Saint-Gilloise.
Anthony Gordon (€7.0m) – Newcastle
Having converted two penalties during Newcastle's 4-0 win at Union SG on Matchday 2, Gordon has attracted the interest of Fantasy managers with the midfielder looking likely to remain on penalty duty for the time being. As shown by his recent goal for England against Latvia, the 24-year-old is also adept at scoring from open play. Newcastle are next at home to a Benfica side who have lost both their league phase matches.
Kenan Yıldız (€6.6m) – Juventus
Another mid-priced midfielder, Yıldız has already produced a double-figure Fantasy return this season when he both scored and provided an assist against Dortmund on Matchday 1. He also impressed on international duty for Türkiye, scoring twice in a 6-1 win against Bulgaria before adding a further goal three days later against Georgia. Fantasy managers have been quick to move for Yıldız, who features in over 20% of teams before Juventus' fixture against Real Madrid.
Cody Gakpo (€7.5m) – Liverpool
Although he is yet to register an attacking return in this season's league phase, Gakpo's recent form suggests that might not be the case for too much longer. The Netherlands international scored two goals and added an assist against Malta before also finding the net against Finland. Having got on the scoresheet against Chelsea in Liverpool's most recent Premier League fixture, it seems only a matter of time before Gakpo translates that output to the Champions League.
