GOALKEEPERS

Only one goalkeeper managed a double-figure Fantasy score on Matchday 5. Mark Flekken (€4.9m) made seven saves and was named Player of the Match in Bayer Leverkusen's crucial 2-0 victory away at Manchester City.

Flekken’s 11 points was by far the most among goalkeepers, with the second highest score from Qarabağ's Mateusz Kochalski (€4.4m), who picked up eight points in a losing cause at Napoli after eight saves and a penalty stop. His opposite number Vanja Milinkovic-Savic (€4.0m) came away with seven points after a clean sheet in a 2-0 win for the Italian champions.

Five goalkeepers finished on seven points, including Marco Carnesecchi (€4.7m), who has now registered three consecutive clean sheets. The 25-year-old's form is proving key to Atalanta's hopes of knockout stage qualification after La Dea picked up their third league phase win of the campaign on Matchday 5 at Frankfurt.

DEFENDERS

A potential differential at the start of the league phase, Geovany Quenda (€5.1m) reminded everyone of his Fantasy credentials with a goal, assist and clean sheet in Sporting CP's 3-0 defeat of Club Brugge. That score of 15 points was Quenda's biggest return since his ten on Matchday 1 and narrowly higher than the 13 points recorded by Alejandro Grimaldo (€6.0m), who opened the scoring for Leverkusen in Manchester and now has 22 points over the past two matchdays.

Top billing among defenders, however, went to Benfica's Samuel Dahl (€4.5m), whose goal, clean sheet and six ball recoveries led to him being named Player of the Match at Ajax and score 16 Fantasy points, the most of any player in his position.

It was a very profitable matchday for Sporting CP players with Geny Catamo (€5.4m) gaining 12 points following a pair of assists, while Marc Cucurella (€5.4m) picked up his second Player of the Match award and second double-figure return of the league phase with 11 points in Chelsea's 3-0 win over Barcelona. Jose María Giménez (€4.9m) headed a late winner for Atlético de Madrid at home to Inter, elevating his matchday score to 12 points having also been named Player of the Match.

MIDFIELDERS

Matchday 5 included plenty of sizeable hauls, none bigger than the 22 points by Paris Saint-Germain's Vitinha (€7.1m). In a scintillating display against Tottenham, the Portugal international scored the first hat-trick of his career, including a blistering strike from outside the box along with a penalty. After five league phase fixtures, Vitinha has 48 points, a total exceeded by just one other Fantasy player.

Estêvão (€6.0m) now has three goals in three Champions League starts for Chelsea and is quickly establishing himself not only as one of the most exciting prospects in Europe but also as a valuable Fantasy slection. The 18-year-old Brazilian has accumulated 26 points from Matchday 3 onwards, registering at least eight in each game.

However, there were a number of much bigger Fantasy totals among midfielders. Scott McTominay (€7.0m) picked up 15 points after a goal, assist, five ball recoveries and the Player of the Match award for Napoli. That Fantasy score was matched by Copenhagen's Robert (€4.3m), who also won Player of the Match following an assist and a goal from outside the box in a 3-2 victory against Kairat Almaty.

Kylian Mbappé's four goals for Real Madrid vs Olympiacos

FORWARDS

Many Fantasy bosses were celebrating a memorable display from Kylian Mbappé (€10.8m), who showed why he has been included in 70% of squads. A seven-minute first-half hat-trick, the second-fastest in Champions League history, was crowned by a fourth goal in the second half, leading Real Madrid to a 4-3 win against Olympiacos in Greece and giving Mbappé a competition-leading nine Champions League goals in 2025/26.

No Fantasy player can match Mbappé's 57 points this season, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (€6.8m) scoring 14 on Matchday 5 thanks to both goals in Marseille's comeback win against Newcastle. Serhou Guirassy (€8.2m) also got two goals and the Player of the Match award to earn 11 Fantasy points in Dortmund's 4-0 win at home to Villarreal.

Atalanta's Charles De Ketelaere (€5.9m) and Randal Kolo Muani (€7.3m) of Tottenham ended Matchday 5 with 13 points respectively after both were on the scoresheet. The latter struck twice and also managed an assist against parent club Paris, De Ketelaere scoring one goal and setting up another in Frankfurt.
