Ahead of the first legs of the UEFA Champions League round of 16, UEFA.com assesses the captaincy potential of four players from Bayern, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Bodø/Glimt as managers prepare for Matchday 11 of UCL Fantasy, presented by PlayStation.
TUESDAY 10 MARCH
Harry Kane (€10.8m) vs Atalanta (A)
The round of 16 brings Bayern München back in action, which means UCL Fantasy managers should once again be considering Kane for captaincy. The striker has scored in his last seven games in all competitions, a total of 11 goals, and has 45 club goals in 2025/26 – the highest season total of his career. In the Champions League, the England international's Fantasy armband credentials are illustrated by three double-figure points totals and eight goals overall in the league phase.
Lamine Yamal (€9.9m) vs Newcastle (A)
Yamal is another standout Fantasy pick who returns to the Champions League on Matchday 11, when Barcelona visit Newcastle. The 18-year-old finished the league phase with three goals, three assists and a Player of the Match award and has form in the knockout stage having scored in the round of 16, quarter-finals and semi-finals last season. Yamal registered his first club hat-trick on 28 February against Villarreal, becoming the youngest Barcelona player to score three goals in a Liga game.
Other options: Hugo Ekitike (€8.0m), Julián Alvarez (€9.1m), Anthony Gordon (€7.2m)
WEDNESDAY 11 MARCH
Désiré Doué (€8.0m) vs Chelsea (H)
Doué was one of Paris Saint-Germain's standout performers during their knockout phase play-off tie with Monaco. Coming off the bench to pick up 19-point haul in the first leg, the 20-year-old won the Player of the Match award in the second leg, when he was in the starting line-up and provided an assist. At home to Chelsea on Matchday 11, Doué benefits from his classification as a midfielder on Fantasy, meaning he gains extra points for both goals and clean sheets.
Jens Petter Hauge (€6.3m) vs Sporting CP (H)
With a Fantasy ownership of just 2%, Hauge is a leading differential and recent evidence shows that there is a strong chance he will prove to be an effective captain on Matchday 11. While fellow Bodø/Glimt forward Kasper Høgh is also a viable option, Hauge is the Norwegian club's leading Fantasy points scorer having recorded seven attacking returns and won three Player of the Match awards. On Matchday 11 Bodø/Glimt face Sporting CP at home, where Hauge has scored four of his six Champions League goals.
Other options: Gabriel (€5.7m), Vinícius Júnior (€9.5m), Erling Haaland (€10.7m)
