Champions League Fantasy Football: The Scout squad for Matchday 11

Managers on UCL Fantasy, presented by PlayStation, once again have unlimited free transfers ahead of the UEFA Champions League round of 16 first legs – meaning the Wildcard or Limitless chips cannot be used on Matchday 11.

The Scout has opted to include Erling Haaland, Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen in a prolific attack, while Désiré Doué is backed to continue his knockout form so far, Antoine Semenyo is expected to make an immediate Champions League impact and Arsenal are looking to extend their excellent defensive displays.

Goalkeepers

Clean sheets could well be in short supply in the round of 16 – there were seven across last season's 16 fixtures at the same stage – so Fantasy managers may be wise to opts for lower-priced goalkeepers. Tuesday's selection is Uğurcan Çakır (€5.0m) of Galatasaray, who has home advantage for the first leg against Liverpool – against whom he kept a clean sheet in Istanbul on Matchday 2, when he scored six Fantasy points.

Premier League leaders Arsenal return to action on Wednesday at Bayer Leverkusen; the Gunners conceded a league-phase low of four goals in eight games and have the best defensive record in the English top flight with 22 goals against. David Raya (€5.5m) is therefore selected having kept five clean sheets in seven Champions League appearances this season.

Defenders

Arsenal's defensive credentials mean they provide two of the five defenders in the form of Gabriel (€5.7m) and Jurriën Timber (€5.0m), who are on 37 and 36 Fantasy points respectively after the league phase. In addition to their defensive fortitude, both have also provided a goal and an assist in this season's competition and each have three Premier League goals – Timber has added six assists to Gabriel's four.

Virgil van Dijk (€6.2m) is the second highest-scoring Fantasy defender on 64 points, the Liverpool centre-back's four clean sheets supplemented by two goals, two assists and two Player of the Match awards. Nuno Mendes (€6.3m) has 62 Fantasy points ahead of Paris Saint-Germain's home first leg against Chelsea and will be looking to add to his three goals in the 2024/25 knockout phase, while Dávid Hancko (€4.5m) and Atlético de Madrid are at home to a Tottenham team that have two wins in 14 games in all competitions and have lost the last five.

Paris vs Chelsea showdown

Midfielders

Désiré Doué (€8.0m) is again included having scored 27 points across the knockout phase play-offs, the Paris Saint-Germain forward – a midfielder on UCL Fantasy – at home again on Matchday 11 against Chelsea, who have kept one clean sheet in 11 matches in all competitions. At the other end of the Fantasy experience list is Antoine Semenyo (€7.0m), poised to make his Champions League debut at Real Madrid having made a significant impact since his January move to Manchester City with five goals and an assist in his first eight Premier League appearances.

Lamine Yamal (€9.9m) is at Newcastle with Barcelona after scoring seven or more Fantasy points in three of his six league phase games and seven goals in his last seven Liga appearances. Joshua Kimmich (€6.4m) will look to carry his recent attacking form into Bayern München's game at Atalanta while Håkon Evjen (€5.6m) scored nine Fantasy points in Bodø/Glimt's second-leg win at Inter and could be a crucial budget enabler at home to Sporting CP.

Real Madrid vs Man City reunion

Forwards

With this season's top scorer Kylian Mbappé expected to sit out Real Madrid's home game against Manchester City – having scored a hat-trick in the same fixture last season – there is space for both Harry Kane (€10.8m) and Erling Haaland (€10.7m). Both have had injury concerns recently – Kane missed Bayern's win on Friday due to a calf problem and Haaland has been absent in two of Manchester City's last three games – but with Kane finding the net in his last seven appearances in all competitions and Haaland scoring three goals in his last three matches against Real Madrid, both are hard to overlook, fitness permitting.

The third forward slot is taken by Victor Osimhen (€8.0m), who will look to repeat his Matchday 2 feat of scoring against Liverpool. Galatasaray's Nigerian striker picked up eight points in each leg of the knockout phase play-off against Juventus and has seven goals and two assists in this season's Champions League.
