Champions League Fantasy Football: Top performers on Matchday 15

Nine players scored at least eight points in the first legs of the UEFA Champions League semi-finals, all but one of those a midfielder or forward. UEFA.com looks at the top performers on Matchday 15 of UCL Fantasy, presented by PlayStation.

GOALKEEPERS

With no clean sheets on Matchday 15, Fantasy points were at a premium for goalkeepers. Of the four in action in the first legs, only David Raya (€5.6m) registered more than three saves – earning him three points. Both Raya and opposite number Jan Oblak (€5.7m) were beaten from the penalty spot as Arsenal and Atlético de Madrid drew 1-1 in Spain.

An incredible nine-goal encounter on Tuesday ended with Paris Saint-Germain edging out Bayern München 5-4, meaning Matvei Safonov (€4.7m) and Manuel Neuer (€6.0m) each lost two Fantasy points for conceding at least four goals. This left Neuer on zero points, while Safonov managed to return one after making three saves.

DEFENDERS

Considering the low Fantasy totals of each goalkeeper, it was no surprise defenders fared little better. As was the case with Safonov and Neuer, each starting defender for both Paris and Bayern lost two points after their teams conceded at least four goals.

Bayern's Dayot Upamecano (€5.0m) still managed a sizeable return, the only defender to finish Matchday 15 with more than four points after scoring Bayern's third goal. Upamecano picked up eight Fantasy points, making it six straight appearances in which he has returned four or more.

Only one other defender managed an attacking return on Matchday 15, Achraf Hakimi (€6.0m) providing the assist for Paris' fourth goal. Highly-owned Arsenal duo William Saliba (€6.0m) and Gabriel (€5.8m) scored four and three points respectively, the former's seven ball recoveries earning him the extra point. The most ball recoveries was nine by Bayern's Jonathan Tah (€5.4m), who earned three points.

MIDFIELDERS

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (€8.4m) became the first played to exceed 100 Fantasy points this season after his fourth double-figure return of the knockout stage. The Georgian's two goals took him to ten for the campaign, his 12 Fantasy points one of just two double-figure totals on Matchday 15.

João Neves (€6.1m) made it two goals in as many games against Bayern this season and also managed eight ball recoveries to come away with nine points, while a pair of assists for Désiré Doué (€8.1m) earned the 20-year-old eight points.

Michael Olise (€8.3m) was the only other midfielder on the scoresheet, the highly-owned France international's seven points the same as Bayern team-mate Aleksandar Pavlović (€5.0m), who provided an attacking return for a second matchday in a row.

FORWARDS

For the second consecutive matchday, no player could equal the Fantasy score of Ousmane Dembélé (€9.6m). The striker again struck twice for Paris, having also hit two goals in the quarter-final second leg at Liverpool, an assist leading to 16 points after being named Player of the Match for the second game in a row.

From a Fantasy point of view, forwards were the big winners on Matchday 15 with all five of the highest-owned active forwards scoring at least once. Harry Kane (€10.9m) picked up nine points after making it 13 Champions League goals for the campaign and also set up Luis Díaz (€7.8m) for Bayern's fourth goal of the first leg. The Colombian won the penalty scored by Kane and matched his nine-point haul.

In the other semi-final, Viktor Gyökeres (€9.0m) and Julián Alvarez (€9.4m) both scored from the penalty spot. Gyökeres both won and converted his penalty for Arsenal, earning eight Fantasy points, while Atleti's Alvarez now has 45 points across the knockout stage after his six on Matchday 15.
