Coach: Okan Buruk
A member of the Galatasaray team that earned UEFA Cup honours in 1999/2000 and then defeated Real Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup, Okan Buruk returned to manage his former club in the summer of 2022 and has since led them to four consecutive Turkish titles. Buruk was eliminated in the Champions League group stage as coach of İstanbul Başakşehir (2020/21) and Galatasaray (2023/24) but made it as far as the round of 16 last season.
Key player: Victor Osimhen
The athletic Nigerian striker joined Galatasaray permanently in 2025 after a successful loan spell. He was Serie A's top scorer when Napoli claimed a first Scudetto in 33 years in 2023 and was crowned African Player of the Year that December. In his first two seasons in Türkiye, he scored 59 goals in 74 games in all competitions.
Big summer signing: Lesley Ugochukwu
The midfielder made a high-profile move from home-town club Rennes to Chelsea in 2023 and starred for both Southampton and Burnley before his loan switch to Galatasaray this summer. A linchpin of the France Under-21 side, he adds physical presence and calm distribution to the Turkish side's armoury.
One to watch: Renato Nhaga
Galatasaray have high hopes for the 19-year-old, who can play in midfield or further forward. The club moved for the Guinea-Bissau international in February by capturing him from Portuguese side Casa Pia, where he had become their youngest ever top-flight debutant shortly after his 18th birthday.
Galatasaray's 2025/26 season
Liverpool ended Galatasaray's Champions League adventure in the round of 16, but Cimbom won a fourth successive domestic title under Okan Buruk, the duo of Mauro Icardi and Victor Osimhen up front proving devastatingly effective again in the league.
