Coach: Yaya Touré

After a glittering playing career which included Champions League glory with Barcelona in 2008/09, former Ivorian international Touré led Slovan Bratislava to their second league phase berth in his first role as head coach. Before taking charge of Slovan in July, Touré's most recent posting was as assistant coach of the Saudi Arabian national team.

Key player: Andraž Šporar

Captain Šporar was Slovan's top scorer with 12 goals as they defended their league title last term, marking a successful first season back with the club whom he also represented between 2018 and 2020. The Slovenian striker can draw on prior Champions League experience with Basel.

Big summer signing: Suleiman Camara

A summer arrival from Real Racing Club, Gambia international Camara gave his new fans plenty of cause for excitement during qualifying. The winger scored twice in four appearances, the second a sparkling individual effort against Mjällby.

One to watch: Nino Marcelli

Winger Marcelli, 21, enjoyed his most productive season yet in 2025/26, producing seven goals and six assists to help Slovan win the title. Bratislava born, Marcelli is now showing his promise after working his way through the youth ranks at the club, which he joined in 2014.

Slovan Bratislava won an eighth consecutive league title but were less successful in the Slovak Cup, which they exited in the round of 16, and they did not progress from the league phase of the Conference League.
