Coach: Peter Bosz
An Eredivisie winner with Feyenoord as a player, Bosz is a self-confessed disciple of the Cruyff/Guardiola school who likes his teams to press aggressively and dominate possession. He won his first top-tier league title as a coach in 2023/24 as PSV claimed the Eredivisie, losing just one game, and has since made it three in a row.
Key player: Ricardo Pepi
Sixteen league goals from Pepi helped PSV retain their league title last term, a total only bettered by two players. The USA forward was similarly sharp in front of goal in the Champions League, converting three times in five outings, and has scored in the competition in each of the last three seasons.
Big summer signing: Sven Mijnans
Attacking midfielder Mijnans broke through at Sparta Rotterdam in 2020 before joining AZ Alkmaar in January 2023. His fourth and final campaign with AZ was his strongest, returning 11 goals and six assists in the Dutch top flight to go along with six goals in 11 UEFA Conference League appearances.
One to watch: Noah Fernandez
A product of the PSV youth system, teenager Fernandez broke into the first team last season and even enjoyed a Champions League appearance against Bayern München. The young Belgian midfielder pinpoints “dribbling, keeping an overview and making actions” as his key strengths, skills that equip him to operate in a variety of midfield roles.
