Holders AC Milan have been paired with RC Deportivo La Coruña after today's draw for the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals in Nyon, Switzerland, while there will also be a mouthwatering all-English duel.
Six-time winners
Milan, the defending champions, are targeting their seventh success in Europe's most prestigious club competition. Their Spanish opponents, Deportivo, were this week the conquerors of Juventus, the team Milan beat on penalties in last year's final. In the all-Premiership encounter, Arsenal FC will do battle with London rivals Chelsea FC, guaranteeing an English side in the last four.
French hopes
In the remaining two ties, nine-times winners Real Madrid CF will face Ligue 1 leaders AS Monaco FC, while FC Porto, the UEFA Cup holders, will take on Olympique Lyonnais, the French champions.
Remaining dates
The draw was also made for the semi-finals, with teams learning who their potential opponents will be should they reach the last four. The quarter-final ties will be played over two legs, starting on 23/24 March and concluding a fortnight later. The winners will progress to the semi-finals, with the two legs scheduled for 20/21 April and 4/5 May. The final will take place at the Arena AufSchalke in Gelsenkirchen, Germany on Wednesday 26 May.
