'Anything is possible' for Koeman

SL Benfica's fairy-tale win at Anfield delighted coach Ronald Koeman, but left Liverpool FC manager Rafael Benítez "really, really disappointed".

Rafael Benítez, Liverpool manager
The most important thing is that we created plenty of chances and didn't score. We made a mistake and then they scored. It was difficult for us as they were organised. In the first 20 minutes we were better, but we couldn't score. But it wasn't just the strikers who were the problem – we made mistakes in defence and couldn't control the midfield. I am really, really disappointed as we had a lot of confidence and believed it was possible. We started at the tempo needed to win, but Benfica did a good job.

Ronald Koeman, Benfica coach
We did something tonight that people were not expecting – we came to Anfield and won 2-0. I cannot remember the last time they lost at home by two goals. Maybe we were a bit lucky, but once it was 1-0, we played well. It is not normal for Liverpool to be able to score three or four goals, and when you create good chances at the beginning of a match, and do not score, it becomes a mental problem. But this is why football is so nice – you can win against a bigger team, and anything is possible if you work for it.
