Barça left without Eto'o again

Samuel Eto'o is set to miss the start of FC Barcelona's UEFA Champions League campaign after picking up a thigh injury in the Joan Gamper trophy on Wednesday.

Samuel Eto'o will miss the start of FC Barcelona's UEFA Champions League campaign after picking up a thigh injury in a friendly game on Wednesday.

Brief cameo
The Cameroonian international came on as a substitute in Barça's 5-0 win against FC Internazionale Milano in the Joan Gamper trophy match at the Camp Nou but lasted just six minutes before being forced off the pitch after pulling a muscle in his right thigh. Initial reports suggested a minor injury but further tests have indicated that the 26-year-old will be out of action for two months, a period which would take in their first three UEFA Champions League fixtures - a blow for player and club ahead of today's draw. Barcelona must now decide whether surgery will be necessary for Eto'o, who underwent an operation last season on damaged cartilage in his right knee and did not return for five months.
