Didulica adds to AZ options

AZ Alkmaar have signed Croatia goalkeeper Joey Didulica for an undisclosed fee from FK Austria Wien as competition for Dutch international Henk Timmer.

Plenty of experience
The 28-year-old has agreed a four-year contract with the UEFA Cup entrants, who finished runners-up in last season's Eredivisie. The Australian-born Didulica has spent the past three seasons in Austria, helping his team to the 2005/06 title, but is no stranger to Dutch football having previously played for AFC Ajax. He has been capped four times by Croatia and, like his new team-mate Timmer, was part of his country's squad at the FIFA World Cup. Alkmaar will enter the UEFA Cup in September’s first round.
