Valente joins Braga brigade

SC Braga continued to strengthen ahead of their UEFA Europa League campaign by signing FC Porto left-winger Diogo Valente on a three-year deal.

SC Braga continued to strengthen ahead of their UEFA Europa League campaign by signing FC Porto left-winger Diogo Valente on a three-year deal.

Nomadic loanee
Valente moves for an undisclosed fee after spending last season on loan at Leixões SC. Groomed at Boavista FC, the 24-year-old joined Porto at the beginning of the 2006/07 campaign. He was loaned to CS Marítimo in January of the following season before moving on to Leixões where he scored four goals in 29 league matches for the sixth-placed outfit last term. "I'm at a spectacular club," he said. He joins fellow newcomers Ney dos Santos, Fernando Alexandre, Angelo Peña and coach Domingos Paciência at the club, who will start their UEFA Europa League bid in the third qualifying round.
