Pagis lends experience to Rennes

Experienced striker Mickaël Pagis has joined Stade Rennais FC from Olympique de Marseille for an estimated transfer fee of €1.2m, signing a two-year contract.

Experienced striker Mickaël Pagis has joined Stade Rennais FC from Olympique de Marseille for an estimated fee of €1.2m.

Two-year deal
Pagis, who turns 34 next month, made Marseille the seventh club of his career in a move from RC Strasbourg in January 2006 and helped them reach the French Cup final and qualify for the 2007/08 UEFA Champions League. However, he will instead compete in the UEFA Cup for the fourth time after signing a two-year deal with Rennes where he could link up with highly-rated forward Jimmy Briand, who agreed a new contract this week.
