2022 U19 EURO finals in Slovakia: tournament information, scouting

Slovakia will stage the finals from 18 June to 1 July. From teams and format to match dates and kick-off times, here's all you need to know.

Slovakia will stage the 2022 UEFA European Under-19 Championship finals from 18 June to 1 July.

Finals groups

Group A: Slovakia (hosts), Romania, Italy, France

Group B: England, Israel, Serbia, Austria

The hosts will be joined by seven teams progressing from the elite round, with the finals draw made on Thursday 28 April at X-Bionic Sphere in Šamorín-Čilistov, where the teams were split into two groups of four.

The top two teams from each group will progress to the semi-finals. Those four teams will qualify for the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Indonesia along with the winner of a play-off between the team sides finishing third in the two groups, filling UEFA's five slots.

The Slovak Football Association (SFZ) staged the 2000 U21 EURO, the U17 EURO in 2013 and the 2016 Women's U19 EURO. The final tournament is returning after the last two were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Martin Škrtel
The former Liverpool centre-back played over 100 times for Slovakia's national team. He won the Turkish Süper Lig with İstanbul Başakşehir in 2020.

Róbert Vittek
Second in Slovakia's all-time top scoring charts with 23 goals in 82 appearances, the striker's club career took him to Germany, France and Turkey.

What happened last time?

2022 Under-19 EURO: The venues

Spain beat Portugal 2-0 at Republican Stadium in the Armenian capital of Yerevan to claim a record eighth U19 title in 2019. The team of the tournament featured the Rojitas' Ferrán Torres and Eric García, both now at Barcelona. The 2020 edition was abandoned 2021 edition was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Scouting information

Scouts who wish to apply for tickets to the UEFA European Under-19 Championship will be able to do so online from Thursday 12 May.

Number of tickets have been reserved for scouts for each match at the 2022 UEFA European Under-19 Championship final tournament in Israel – and can be ordered online from this link by 12:00 CET on Monday 6 June. No requests will be considered after the deadline.

A maximum of two tickets per match can be allocated per club or organisation. Due to limited stadium capacities, the number of tickets per club for some matches may be limited to one or may be in the standing sector. Tickets will be complimentary but do not include hospitality or parking.

Ticket collection procedures

Tickets must be collected at respective stadium’s scout ticketing booth on match day as of two hours before kick-off, upon presentation of a valid club/organisation ID and a confirmation email.

 Tickets that have not been collected by 30 minutes before kick-off may be re-allocated.
