PREMIUM OPTIONS
It is easy to understand why Barcelona's Aitana Bonmatí (€10.5m) is top of the price list: the Barcelona midfielder recently won her third consecutive Ballon d’Or and was crowned 2024/25 Women's Champions League Player of the Season. No player registered more assists than Bonmatí's five in last season’s competition and she also scored four times.
Two-time Ballon d'Or winner Alexia Putellas (€10.0m) is another Barcelona player history suggests is worthy of her price tag, with three goals and four assists in 2024/25, while fellow Spain international Mariona Caldentey (€8.0m) contributed seven goals and two assists to Arsenal's trophy-winning campaign last season.
Bayern's Klara Bühl (€8.5m) added four assists to her two goals in last term's competition and Atlético de Madrid's Luany (€8.0m) is another promising possibility at the higher end of the market.
MID-PRICED OPTIONS
Slightly more budget-friendly suggestions are Janina Minge (€7.0m), who scored twice as Wolfsburg reached last season's quarter-finals, and Barbara Bonansea (€7.5m), who returns to the competition with Juventus after a memorable strike for Italy against England in the Women's EURO 2025 semi-finals.
A player Bonansea faced in that semi-final who is also accustomed to delivering crucial goals, Ella Toone (€7.5m) is set to play at this stage for the first time with Manchester United; the midfielder recorded three assists in qualifying after two goals and two assists at Women's EURO.
Olaug Tvedten (€6.5m) scored Vålerenga's inaugural group stage goal last October against eventual champions Arsenal and her club-mate Stine Brekken (€7.0m) found the net four times in this season's qualifying rounds. Manuela Giugliano (€6.5m) could be another good investment after two goals and three assists for Roma in the 2024/25 competition.
BUDGET OPTIONS
Chelsea playmaker Keira Walsh (€6.0m) has two Women's Champions League winners' medals from her time at Barcelona and is likely to score plenty of points from ball recoveries alone, while Patri Guijarro (€6.0m) matched her Barcelona team-mate Bonmatí with five assists in last season's competition.
Ballon d'Or nominee Caroline Weir (€5.0m) will be seeking to build on last season's run to the last eight with Real Madrid, during which she scored three goals and provided three assists. Weir's Scotland international team-mate Kim Little (€5.5m) lifted the trophy as Arsenal captain in May.
Catarina Macario (€5.5m) – three goals and two assists in 2024/25 – and Guro Reiten (€5.5m) – two and one – are good lower-priced options from a Chelsea team that has reached the semi-finals in the last three seasons.
