🌱 Sustainable travel

UEFA EURO 2024 aims to be the greenest of all time!

In Düsseldorf, sustainable travel is made easy with the city's extensive network of bike lanes and the availability of green spaces for walking, encouraging low-carbon journeys. Opt for the eco-friendly public transportation system, which includes the Rheinbahn's low-floor trams and buses designed to accommodate all passengers, to get around Düsseldorf in climate-friendly fashion.

Help minimise your carbon impact by:

✅ Choosing train or long-distance bus travel options over flights
Travelling by train will be the most convenient option to get around. Thanks to our partner Deutsche Bahn, match ticket holders are entitled to discounted national and international train tickets.

The networks cover a vast area beyond Düsseldorf’s city borders, including Cologne, Gelsenkirchen and Dortmund, so you can discover the entire whole region by public transport.

By plane ✈️

The third-largest airport in Germany, Düsseldorf Airport (DUS), serves as a vital hub in international air travel, connecting Düsseldorf to over 200 destinations worldwide. Düsseldorf Airport is located only 15 minutes away from the city centre by public transport.

By long-distance bus 🚍

Düsseldorf has a modern long-distance bus terminal for services to numerous European destinations. Located conveniently on Worringer Straße, right next to the Central Station, the terminal is equipped with comfortable waiting areas.

By car 🚘

It is not advisable to drive into Düsseldorf during EURO 2024 as traffic will be significantly higher than usual and journey times will be more unpredictable. In addition, public parking at the stadium will be very limited and for pre-booked cars only.

If you have no other choice but to travel by car, consider using one of the city’s Park + Ride facilities. You can find live updates on city parking and P+R capacities on the dedicated website.
