Belgium round-up: Anderlecht set the pace

Members

RSC Anderlecht made it three wins from three games with a 2-0 away success at R. Standard de Liège.

Double whammy
The Brussels club struck twice in the second half through Ki-Hyeun Seol and Clayton Zane. The Korean touched in Ivica Mornar's cross-shot on 50 minutes before Australian international Zane scored his first Jupiler League goal with a header from a Walter Baseggio centre.

Westerlo pay penalty
Club Brugge KV also have a 100 per cent after they prevailed 2-0 at rock-bottom KVC Westerlo. The visitors took an early lead through Gaetan Englert which goalkeeper Danny Verlinden preserved by saving Toni Brogno's penalty. Westerlo paid for their profligacy when the Norwegian Rune Lange clinched the points on 53 minutes.

Goot grief for Excelsior
Meanwhile, R. Antwerp FC had their first victory, 3-1 at home against R. Excelsior Mouscron. Patrick Goot's double strike and another from Ibrahim Yattara gave the hosts a decisive half-time advantage, against which Steve Dugardein's late goal counted for little.

Lommelse lift
KFC Lommelse SK joined Antwerp on four points after inflicting a first defeat on Sporting Lokeren St-Niklaas Waasland. Mirek Waligora made the game safe for the home team after Dieter Dekelver had opened the scoring.

Gent leave it late
Late goals from John Machethe and Patrick Dimbala gave KAA Gent a 2-1 home triumph against R. Charleroi FC, who had gone ahead through the Brazilian Adelino Da Silva Eduardo.

Making the rise
K. Lierse moved into third place after outlasting KSK Beveren with Stein Huysegems and Marius Mitu registering for the home side. While the game between promoted KV Mechelen and fellow new boys R. AEC Mons ended in stalemate.
