PSV Eindhoven have signed ten-times capped Australian international midfielder Jason Culina from FC Twente for an undisclosed fee.

PSV Eindhoven have signed ten-times capped Australian international midfielder Jason Culina from Eredivisie rivals FC Twente for an undisclosed fee.

League debut
The 25-year-old has signed a contract which will bind him to the reigning Dutch champions until the summer of 2009. Culina will be able to make his debut for the club in their Dutch league game against SC Heerenveen on Sunday but he will not be eligible to play for them in the UEFA Champions League group stage.

Dual role
PSV coach Guus Hiddink, who is also Culina's coach with Australia, said: "We had been watching him for some time, but the injury problems we have mean that we have signed him immediately. He is versatile and has a lot of qualities. He is a player with drive - someone you always like to have in your squad."
