Borowski blow for Bremen

German international midfielder Tim Borowski will be sidelined for up to three weeks after injuring his left leg in Werder Bremen's draw with FC Barcelona.

German international midfielder Tim Borowski injured his left leg in Werder Bremen's UEFA Champions League draw against FC Barcelona on Wednesday and will be sidelined for two to three weeks, the Bundesliga club have said.

Double blow
The injury makes Borowski a major doubt for Bremen's Matchday 3 meeting with PFC Levski Sofia on 18 October while also ruling the 26-year-old out of Germany's friendly against Georgia on 7 October. Bremen have suffered another blow with Germany defender Patrick Owomoyela picking up a knock in training on Thursday to rule him out of Saturday's league visit of VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach.
