Kowalewski doubt for Spartak

Polish international keeper Wojciech Kowalewski is a doubt for FC Spartak Moskva's UEFA Champions League meeting with FC Bayern München after suffering concussion.

Crucial games
Kowalewski was hospitalised after a collision with Saturn forward Gyan Baffour and is likely to be sidelined for two weeks. The 29-year-old could miss title-chasing Spartak's final two Premier-Liga games of the season, against FC Rostov on 18 November and against FC Krylva Sovetov Samara eight days later, as well as the Group B match at home to Bayern on 22 November.

Doctors orders
Spartak doctor Vladimir Zotkin said: "We'll observe his condition carefully. For the moment, one thing is clear - he needs rest so will stay in hospital." Spartak are bottom of UEFA Champions League Group B with one point from four outings, but sit second in the Premier-Liga, three points behind rivals PFC CSKA Moskva.
