LuaLua makes Olympiacos move

Olympiacos CFP have signed Congolese international Lomana LuaLua on a three-year deal from Portsmouth FC as they continue to rebuild for the new season.

Olympiacos CFP have continued their rebuilding process before the new season by moving to sign Congolese international Lomana LuaLua from Portsmouth FC - the Greek champions agreeing a three-year contract with the striker.

Career in England
UEFA Champions League contenders Olympiacos are believed to have paid a fee in the region of €3.5m for 26-year-old LuaLua, who leaves England after nine years in which he played for Portsmouth and Newcastle United FC after making his name at lowly Colchester United FC. The player, capped six times by his country, made 22 league appearances for Premier League Portsmouth last season, scoring twice.

Rivaldo icon
Upon his arrival at his new club, LuaLua said: "I am very glad to be in Greece. I can't wait for my debut for Olympiacos and I will try my best. I know lots of things about the team, especially as an icon of mine, Rivaldo, played here for three seasons." He could make his bow on 26 August when Olympiacos begin their season with a trip to Athens against Panathinaikos FC. LuaLua is the club's tenth summer signing following the arrivals of goalkeeper Michalis Sifakis, defenders Paraskevas Antzas and Raúl Bravo, midfielders Luciano Galletti, Zolt Lacko and Cristian Ledesma and forwards Leonel Núñez, Konstantinos Mitroglou and Darko Kovačević.
