Worst case scenario
With his side a goal up against the Dutch champions thanks to Sergio Agüero's ninth-minute opener, Uruguayan international Forlán raced after a ball only to pull up gripping the back of his right leg on the half-hour. The 29-year-old was quickly replaced by Florent Sinama Pongolle and the frustration on the faces of the player and Atlético coach Javier Aguirre suggested both feared the worst. Subsequent tests on Forlán revealed that there had been a tear and although the club failed to offer a definitive prognosis, speculation suggests that he is in danger of missing the Group D visits of Olympique de Marseille on 1 October and Liverpool FC three weeks later.
