Three days to go ... European dynasties

UEFA.com continues its countdown to Saturday's final by celebrating the three teams in the 60-year history of the European Cup to have won three (or more) successive titles.

Final countdown: Three in-a-row

Real Madrid CF
Messrs Alfredo Di Stéfano, Ferenc Puskás and Francisco Gento were the jewels in the crown of this Madrid dynasty. The Spanish side won the first five editions of the European Champion Clubs' Cup and subsequently lost out in the finals of 1962 and 1964 before adding title No6 two years later.

1955/56: Madrid claim first crown
1956/57: Gento doubles up for Madrid
1957/58: Di Stéfano shines for Madrid
1958/59: Di Stéfano keeps Madrid rolling
1959/60: Dazzling Madrid crush Frankfurt

AFC Ajax
Runners-up in 1969, Ajax broke their duck two years later thanks largely to the talismanic displays of Johan Cruyff. The Dutch international forward was the embodiment of Rinus Michels' 'Total football' so it was little surprise to see him pulling the strings in all three triumphant campaigns.

1970/71: Cruyff pulls the strings
1971/72: Cruyff double keeps Ajax in command
1972/73: Rep makes it three for Ajax

FC Bayern München
Franz Beckenbauer, Uli Hoeness, Gerd Müller and Franz Roth were the backbone of a Bayern team that swept past all before them following Ajax's three-year period of dominance. The Bavarian club would have to wait until 2001 to increase their tally.

1973/74: Müller ends Bayern wait
1974/75: Bayern triumph at Leeds' expense
1975/76: Roth completes Bayern hat-trick
