Luis Suárez on Manchester City v Barcelona

Luis Suárez returns to England today knowing Manchester City FC "are one of the candidates to win the Champions League" but is sure FC Barcelona can trouble them.

Suárez reveals Barcelona respect for City

Luis Suárez never managed to score at Manchester City FC on either visit during his stay with Liverpool FC but Tuesday would be a decent time to break that duck.

The 28-year-old Uruguay forward has travelled to England with new club FC Barcelona for Tuesday's first leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie. Suárez, who struck two goals in his three group stage outings for Barcelona, spoke to UEFA.com about the encounter and his swift reunion with a former Premier League rival.

On Manchester City ...

Well, I think Manchester City are one of the candidates to win the UEFA Champions League. People may doubt it due to the recent spell they went through, but it's Manchester City, they are the defending Premier League champions and they have world-class players in their ranks. They will fight for it until the end. We know Manchester City's qualities and the power they have in midfield and up front, but we also know their weaknesses from midfield to defence, and that is what we will have to take advantage of.

On what he expects from the game ...

I think when you play against a big team, you never know what they will do on the pitch. They have really good players and they have really good quality with the ball. But we are Barcelona, we know our quality and we know what we can do against City.

On returning to England ...

Well, it's different. Back then it was with Liverpool; now I'll be playing there with a different team and the match will be played differently. This is a totally different experience.
