Wicky out
Swiss international Raphael Wicky tore a muscle in his left calf and had to leave the field after 54 minutes to be replaced by René Klingbeil. The 29-year-old is expected to be on the sidelines for up to four weeks. Wicky is certain to miss the return match against Porto on Matchday 4 on 1 November.
Regular face
Wicky has played in six of Hamburg's seven Bundesliga games this season and has often been used by coach Thomas Doll as a replacement for other injured players. Hamburg are bottom of Group G and have failed to win a point so far. The midfielder may also have to sit out Switzerland’s friendly against Brazil in Basel on 15 November.
