Europe's 2020/21 top scorer: who is in the running?

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are in the chasing pack, but Robert Lewandowski is a long way out in front.

As the campaign unfolds, UEFA.com is tracking the top scorers in the continent's leading men's domestic leagues and UEFA's most prominent club competitions.

Erling Haaland set the pace in Europe with ten UEFA Champions League goals this season. But it is Robert Lewandowski, whose title-clinching hat-trick for Bayern München on 8 May moved him to within one of Gerd Müller's Bundesliga season record of 40, that stands a formidable ten goals clear of the next highest scorer in the top domestic competitions: Lionel Messi.
