Having sealed progress from the league phase in dramatic circumstances, Bodø/Glimt's first campaign in the UEFA Champions League proper continues with a knockout phase play-off against three-time winners Inter.

While the Norwegian side snatched 23rd place – the penultimate qualifying spot – thanks to wins in their final two league phase fixtures to finish on nine points (W2 D3 L3), Inter were tenth on 15 points (W5 L3) despite ending a run of three successive defeats with victory on Matchday 8.

Last match

The sides' only previous meetings came in the 1978/79 European Cup Winners' Cup second round, a 7-1 Inter aggregate victory (5-0 h, 2-1 a) with Alessandro Altobelli scoring three goals in the tie.

Bodø/Glimt have won only one of their five two-legged European ties against Italian opposition – their last, a penalty shoot-out triumph against Lazio in last season's UEFA Europa League quarter-finals (2-0 h, 1-3 a aet, 3-2 pens).

The Norwegian side have won their last three home knockout games against Serie A sides.

A 2-3 defeat at home to Juventus on Matchday 5 made it three losses in Bodø/Glimt's last four games against Italian clubs (W1).

Inter are unbeaten in their four matches against Norwegian opposition (W3 D1). In addition to their two victories against Bodø/Glimt, they drew 2-2 away and won 3-0 at home against Rosenborg in the 2002/03 Champions League first group stage.

Bodø/Glimt

This is Bodø/Glimt's fourth Champions League campaign – all since 2021. They have reached the competition proper for the first time, the third Norwegian team to do so after Rosenborg (11 times) and Molde (once) and the first since Rosenborg in 2007/08.

Bodø/Glimt entered this season's Champions League in the play-offs, beating Sturm Graz 6-2 on aggregate (5-0 h, 1-2 a).

Inter

This is the Nerazzurri's 19th appearance in the Champions League and an eighth in succession.

Inter reached a second final in three seasons in 2024/25, but went down 0-5 against Paris Saint-Germain in Munich – the biggest final defeat in European Cup history.
