Coach: Massimiliano Allegri
A vastly experienced coach who won a Serie A title with Milan before adding a further five Scudettos at Juventus, Allegri was appointed as the new Napoli boss this summer. He is the only coach in Europe’s top five leagues to have won a domestic double for four consecutive seasons.
Key player: Rasmus Højlund
Højlund swapped Manchester United for Napoli at the start of last season and equalled his career high of 16 goals in all competitions on his return to Italian football, reminding everyone of the stellar performances he produced during his spells at Sturm Graz and Atalanta. Still only 23, Højlund is also regularly on the scoresheet and leading the line for Denmark.
Big summer signing: Benoît Badiashile
A shrewd loan addition from Chelsea, French centre-back Badiashile declared himself "ready to give everything for this shirt and for this city". The former Monaco man already has plenty of European experience, which could prove valuable in Napoli's Champions League campaign.
One to watch: Alisson Santos
A blend of electric pace and trickery make Alisson Santos an exciting prospect for fans and a menace to Champions League full-backs. The Brazilian winger joined Napoli on loan from Sporting CP in February and his move was made permanent this summer after a string of impressive performances, starting with a last-minute equaliser in his league debut against Roma.
Napoli's 2025/26 season
The club’s 100th season proved to be slightly disappointing; they failed to make it through the league phase of the Champions League and relinquished their title to Inter, with coach Antonio Conte leaving at the end of the campaign.
What is Napoli's best Champions League finish?
Napoli recorded their best Champions League finish in the 2022/23 season when they reached the quarter-finals.
