Slovan have lost all four away matches against Austrian clubs – conceding 14 goals – and have won two and lost six of their eight games against Austrian opposition overall. They have lost their last three and five of the last six, most recently going down 1-4 away and 0-1 at home against Sturm Graz in the 2023/24 UEFA Conference League knockout phase play-offs.
Club history
This is only LASK's third European Cup campaign. They lost 2-5 on aggregate against Górnik Zabrze in the 1965/66 preliminary round and beat Basel 5-2 on aggregate in the 2019/20 third qualifying round before going down 1-3 to Club Brugge in the play-off round (0-1 h, 1-2 a).
LASK are the fifth Austrian club to feature in the Champions League proper, after Salzburg, Sturm Graz, Rapid Wien and Austria Wien.
Slovan are in the Champions League proper for the second time. They made their debut in 2024/25, when they finished 35th in the league phase having lost all eight games.
The Bratislava club lost in the third qualifying round of the Champions League and then the Europa League qualifying play-offs in 2025/26, finishing 29th in the league phase of the Conference League.
This season, the Slovakian side took part in Champions League qualifying for the 13th time and the eighth in a row, successfully negotiating it for only the second time.
