Regueiro ruled out for Valencia

Valencia CF have eight players on the sidelines after forward Mario Regueiro picked up a shoulder injury, although €8m signing Francesco Tavano is finally fit.

Valencia CF have yet another injury to contend with after Mario Regueiro damaged his shoulder in Copa del Rey action last night.

Three weeks
The 28-year-old Uruguay forward will be sidelined for three weeks after being forced out of the 2-0 home win against RC Portuense which took Valencia through 4-1 on aggregate. Having featured in the first four UEFA Champions League matches this season, Regueiro will miss the visit of Olympiacos CFP on 22 November and the trip to AS Roma on 5 December. Los Ché have already qualified from Group D.

Tavano debut
One positive for Valencia is that €8m summer signing Francesco Tavano, who scored 19 Serie A goals for Empoli FC last term, finally made his debut after a calf injury when he replaced Regueiro in the 20th minute. There are seven other Valencia players on the treatment table - David Albelda, Carlos Marchena, Asier del Horno, Rubén Baraja, Vicente Rodríguez, Jaime Gavilán and Emiliano Moretti.
