Sliema add another signing

Sliema Wanderers FC have signed Brazilian striker Edoardo do Nascimento.

Maltese Premier League runners-up Sliema Wanderers FC have continued their summer of squad strengthening with the signing of Brazilian striker Edoardo do Nascimento - better known as Bizu.

Two-year deal
The former Floriana FC forward has agreed a two-year deal and follows fellow new Sliema recruits Joe Brincat and the on-loan winger Pavel Mraz to Wanderers, ahead of their forthcoming UEFA Cup tie against Poland's KP Polonia Warszawa.

Defender disappointment
However, Sliema have failed in their attempt to land Floriana's Congolese defender Riad Gango-Rtsa, after his current club ruled he was not to be loaned out for Wanderers' UEFA Cup games.

Captain loss
Sliema are also keen to buy another defender due to the likely departure of captain Luke Dimech to English second division club Notts County FC. Dimech is set to begin a one-month trial at the Nottingham side.
