San Lorenzo experience
The 23-year-old defender, who won his only cap for his country in a friendly against Chile in April 2007, is a product of San Lorenzo's youth academy and has been part of the club's first-team squad since 2002. He made 125 league appearances, scoring 12 goals, and was part of the team that claimed the Clausura championship in 2007. Sampdoria, who have not made public the transfer fee or the terms of Bottinelli's contract, will start their UEFA Cup campaign in the first round having finished sixth in Serie A in 2007/08.
