A single point separates Grasshopper-Club and FC Basel at the top after both recorded wins.

Grasshopper-Club remained top of the Nationalliga A thanks to a 2-0 home win against FC Zürich.

Early goals
Two first-half Mladen Petrić goals, in the 12th and 32nd minutes, secured an important win for the home side, who remained a single-point ahead of FC Basel at the top of the table.

Two for Yakin
Basel kept up the pressure with a comfortable 4-1 success at FC Thun. Swiss international striker Hakan Yakin opened the scoring after 22 minutes before Hervé Tum doubled the advantage four minutes later and, although Patrick Baumann pulled a goal back from the penalty spot before half-time, further goals from Julio Hernán Rossi and Yakin’s second secured the win for Christian Gross’s team.

Comfortable win
Neuchâtel Xamax FC remained in third place after a comfortable 3-0 win against FC Wil 1900, with Alexandre Rey scoring twice before Leandro sealed the points with a 73rd-minute penalty.

Historic occasion
Servette FC marked the first match in their new ground, the Stade de Genève, with a 1-1 draw against BSC Young Boys. The home side took the lead after ten minutes through Léonard Thurre, but Gürkan Sermeter’s 36th-minute goal earned Young Boys a point.
