Oscar was left with mixed emotions after his full Chelsea FC debut, the joy of his two goals undermined by the blow of Juventus recovering to earn a 2-2 Stamford Bridge draw.

Oscar spoke of his delight after claiming two goals on his full debut for Chelsea FC but admitted his joy was tinged with disappointment after Juventus fought back to earn a thrilling 2-2 Group E draw at Stamford Bridge. Scorer of the equaliser – and another UEFA Champions League debutant – Fabio Quagliarella said the visitors' recovery owed a lot to their self-belief and their determination not to go away empty-handed.

Oscar, Chelsea midfielder
I am very happy with the two goals on my debut but I would have been much happier if the team had managed to win. For the second goal, as soon as I had made the first touch and shot, I knew the ball was going in.

Every young boy in Brazil has dreams of playing in the Champions League so for me to realise this dream, it makes me very proud. The fans are very good here [at Chelsea]. I like it at the club and I hope I can keep going and score more goals like this. I have a lot of friends in London. The Brazilian players are always together so I am very happy with my life and with the club.

Eden Hazard, Chelsea midfielder
I think we played a good match. Oscar scored two goals but after that we weren't able to defend the lead better. Hopefully we will do that in our next matches.

I don't feel any pressure because of my price tag, I have already shown how I can play at Lille and hope to continue like that here, scoring and setting up goals to help the team win. Of course, we have great players and a great team as we showed when we won the competition last year. If all our players are at their best there is no reason why we can't win it again.

Fabio Quagliarella, Juventus forward
It is definitely a great return and it definitely wasn't easy to play away to the defending champions. It was a very good match and for me personally to score a goal at this stadium on my Champions League debut is an indescribable feeling.

It was very difficult. We had to be at our best and believe in ourselves because here, against Chelsea, two goals down is almost impossible to come back from. We had to stay calm, determined and take any chances that came our way. It is always good to start well and we have to continue to believe in our ability.

Gianluigi Buffon, Juventus goalkeeper
We played a good match and deserved to draw and as such we are very happy. They also had chances to score, but in the end we played well, attacked and tried to win. A draw isn't a bad result.

We are happy to be here. It is two years since we've been in this tournament and two years of disappointment, but last year we had a great season and we deserved to be here this evening.
