Seven for Liverpool: the biggest Champions League wins

Liverpool's 7-0 win against Spartak Moskva made them only the second club to score seven twice in a UEFA Champions League season, but was one short of their competition record win set in 2007.

Liverpool have become only the second team to score seven goals in a game twice in the same UEFA Champions League league season, although their 7-0 defeat of Spartak Moskva was one short of their own overall competition best.

The Reds had equalled the biggest margin for an away victory on matchday three, becoming the third club to score seven without reply away from home in the competition proper in winning 7-0 at Maribor, matching the feat of Marseille at Žilina in November 2010 and Shakhtar Donetsk at BATE Borisov in October 2014. Liverpool equalled that margin again against Spartak at Anfield, but were one short of the 8-0 by which they defeated Beşiktaş in November 2007, matched eight years later by Real Madrid against Malmö.

The Premier League club do follow in the footsteps of Bayern München, who put seven past both Roma and Shakhtar Donetsk in 2014/15, in scoring seven on more than one occasion.
