Scottish champions Celtic FC have signed Scotland goalkeeper Craig Gordon on a two-year deal with the option of a further 12 months.

The 31-year-old former Sunderland AFC and Heart of Midlothian FC custodian has not played a competitive game since April 2012 because of a knee problem, having previously broken an arm twice during his time with Sunderland.

"It's been a long hard slog to get to this point, but it is a new challenge and a new beginning for me here at Celtic," Gordon said. "I want to play as many games as I can at Celtic. For me to be here at all is an achievement in itself, so I want to make the most of it. I worked hard for this chance Celtic have given me and I hope to repay them."

Gordon, who has 40 caps for Scotland, will join the Celtic squad at their pre-season training camp in Austria, where new manager Ronny Deila is preparing the Hoops for their UEFA Champions League second round qualifying tie against KR Reykjavík of Iceland.
