Under-21 qualifying groups end

The Czech Republic, Denmark, England, FYR Macedonia, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Slovakia and Sweden will join hosts Poland in the finals, with four other sides in the play-offs.

Group 1
The Czech Republic have won the group as they beat Moldova 4-1 on Friday while Belgium fell 3-0 in Montenegro. Belgium are out of play-off contention in second ahead of their game against Latvia.

Group 2
Italy drew 1-1 in Lithuania to finish a point ahead of of Serbia, who came from behind to win 3-1 in the Republic of Ireland on Friday and then beat Slovenia 3-1 (Slovenia's hopes ended with a loss in Lithuania on Friday). Serbia will be in the play-offs.

Group 3
FYR Macedonia have qualified for a men's UEFA final tournament at any level for the first time after a thrilling final day where both Iceland and France led the group early on. Iceland began on top but ended up losing 4-2 to Ukraine, allowing FYR Macedonia to secure their place with a 2-0 defeat of Scotland in front of 12,000 fans. France's 3-0 win in Northern Ireland was enough for second place but not a play-off.

Group 4
Portugal have won the group and Israel have finished second with 4-0 defeats of Greece and Albania. Israel were denied a play-off place by Norway and Serbia's wins on Tuesday.

Group 5
Denmark have qualified, but although Bulgaria beat Romania for second place, they will not be in the play-offs.

Group 6
Holders Sweden secured top spot and an automatic finals berth with a 4-2 victory against Croatia on Monday. Spain's 5-0 defeat of Estonia assured them of second spot, and they are certain of a play-off place.

Group 7
Germany's exciting 4-3 defeat of Russia on Friday maintained the only perfect record and clinched first place. Austria will finish second and are assured of a play-off place.

Group 8
Slovakia knew they would finish top of the five-team section after Turkey held the Netherlands to a goalless draw on Thursday night. The Netherlands clinched second place ahead of Turkey by winning 4-1 in Cyprus but have not reached the play-offs.

Group 9
Under the caretaker charge of Aidy Boothroyd – with Gareth Southgate temporarily taking over the senior team – England won 1-0 in Kazakhstan on Thursday to take an unassailable lead at the top of the section, adding a 5-0 defeat of Bosnia and Herzegovina. On Friday, Norway made sure of second place with a 2-1 win against Switzerland and won 3-0 in Kazakhstan on Tuesday to book a play-off berth.
