Pizarro has fun against 'terrible' LOSC

"It's always fun to win, especially when you score so many," Claudio Pizarro said after hitting three for FC Bayern München against a LOSC Lille team labelled "terrible".

Claudio Pizarro told UEFA.com he was "very happy" after hitting the third-fastest hat-trick in UEFA Champions League history in FC Bayern München's staggering 6-1 Group F success at home to LOSC Lille. Franck Ribéry felt compassion for his fellow countrymen, who must now turn their attentions to UEFA Europa League qualification in their final two matches.

Claudio Pizarro, Bayern striker
It's always fun to win, especially when you score so many goals. I'd like to have scored a fourth, but I'm very happy with three and it will give me confidence going forward.

The coach said at half-time that we had to keep a clean sheet, which unfortunately we didn't manage, but overall I think we put in a good performance. Obviously, our target now is to win the group. We've said that from the start and now we need to make sure we get positive results in our final two games.

Javi Martínez, Bayern midfielder
We're feeling really good right now. I think it was a big result for us because there were three teams all on six points and now we have nine. We still need to fight hard against Valencia and BATE but this was an important step.

Going back to Spain to face Valencia on matchday five will be very special for me. My family is going to come. Playing against my national team colleagues will be very special.

I was lacking a bit of sharpness but I'm feeling better with every training session and every match, and I think it's only going to get better for me in the future.

Philipp Lahm, Bayern defender
We wanted to keep pushing forward in the second half and make sure we didn't concede, but sadly we didn't manage either in the end. We had a few more chances, but I think ultimately we have to be satisfied with a 6-1 victory. We're leading the group now and of course it's our aim to finish top, but to do that we still need at least four points.

Franck Ribéry, Bayern midfielder
Obviously, it was a shame for them to be 5-0 down after 35 minutes. I know most of the players, but what can you do? I discussed it with a few of them afterwards and just said that that's football and they have the chance to put it right this weekend. It was an important three points for us and the perfect preparation for our next match against Frankfurt.

David Rozehnal, Lille midfielder
Of course we're really disappointed because we played really badly, especially in the first half – 5-0 to Bayern would have been an incredible scoreline regardless, and if you're 5-0 down against a side like Bayern at half-time, it's all the more difficult. The reason we lost by such a big scoreline is because we were so poor in the first half.

The coach tried to remotivate us at half-time. He didn't shout at us because there would have been no point – it would only have put us down further. He motivated us and we had to work hard, that's why we drew 1-1 with them in the second half. I think we played better, but it would have taken a miracle to come back from five down.

We need to play a lot better than we did tonight. Obviously we have to win our next two games. We still have a chance, even if it's a small one, of qualifying for the Europa League.

Mickaël Landreau, Lille goalkeeper
The game was virtually over at half-time. We were terrible up until the break, but in the second half I think we started to play the way we can. We could still have done more, though. I think we were a bit overwhelmed by the some of the names on the pitch. Playing against stars like Franck Ribéry and Arjen Robben – they're out of this world.

On the face of it, the scoreline is pretty bad, but Bayern have been Champions League finalists in two of the last three years. They're up there with the biggest five teams on the continent, especially with a squad like they currently have. They've got world-class players in every position and when they're playing like that in front of their fans in this great stadium, I have to admit it's pretty impressive.
