Bale promises Madrid will 'come back stronger'

Gareth Bale conceded that Álvaro Morata's equaliser "dented the confidence" of Real Madrid CF but promised they will "come back stronger next year".

Gareth Bale cut a frustrated figure after Real Madrid CF were denied a second successive UEFA Champions League final appearance on Wednesday.

The Merengues drew 1-1 on the night with Juventus, losing out 3-2 on aggregate following last week's semi-final first-leg defeat in Turin. Madrid had gone ahead through Cristiano Ronaldo's penalty in the Spanish capital but then conceded an equaliser which Bale admitted "dented the confidence" of the holders. Despite his disappointment, the Welsh international was keen to look to the future. "We'll regroup and come back stronger next year," he said.
