Reinhardt absence hits Hamburg

Hamburger SV's relief at a first win of the season has been tempered by the loss of defender Bastian Reinhardt with a thigh injury for at least four weeks.

Hamburger SV's relief at a first win of the season has been tempered by the loss of defender Bastian Reinhardt for at least four weeks.

Thigh injury
The 30-year-old tore a thigh muscle in training and missed the 2-1 victory at Bayer 04 Leverkusen yesterday which ended a run of 15 games without a win. Three of those matches came in the UEFA Champions League and Hamburg sit bottom of Group G, four points adrift of FC Porto who travel to Germany on Matchday 4 next week. There is an outside chance that Reinhardt could return for the away match at Arsenal FC on 21 November, although the 6 December visit of PFC CSKA Moskva could be more realistic. "This is obviously bad news for us," said coach Thomas Doll.
